Our Station

garage.jpg

Construction started on the building in the fall of 1994 and was completed in the summer of 1995. When we moved into this building, we moved out of three buildings that had no indoor plumbing, no storage space, inadequate lighting, no offices and no classrooms. Our new station was designed to meet all of those needs.

Our records had been kept at the homes of the fire fighters and much was lost or misplaced. We purchased our first computer for record keeping in 1996. Currently we use 5 computers to record all incident reports, training records, meeting minutes and more.

A new NFPA compliant breathing air compressor and fill station were added in 2003. In 2004 we added a washer extractor and started up-dating our interior by painting and constructing workstations in the offices, we also purchased a new marquee to identify our fire station.

In January of 2005 we added a Plymovent Vehicle Exhaust system to the truck room for better health air quality. We also started constructing a new training room and storage room to accommodate our growing numbers of members. In planning for the possible needs of the fire station; in January of 2005 we purchased an additional acre of land adjacent to ours.

Our station has been continually changing over the years. In 1998 we added a fenced area to secure donated vehicles for our rescue training.

Our lot now includes all of the land on the north east corner of Fair Ground Road and Packer Avenue. This purchase gives the Fire District access to two streets and allows us better access to our entire property. Our home is constantly changing to meet the changing needs of the fire district.
